Hey, welcome to my blog site which will be about skateboarding and the skateboarding world. My name is Josue Donato and I'm an amateur skater in the Chico area. I really enjoy skateboarding and reading about skateboarding news and then decided to start a blog. This isn’t a thrasher magazine but more of a fun little thing where I’ll try to talk about tricks and how to do them or where to learn how to do them or just things going on with skateboarding news. An example would be talking about how Nyjah Houston, globally ranked #1 street skater recently got injured. The injury was a torn ACL.

So something like that along the lines would be news of what's going on in the skateboarding community.  Or learning a trick would be me talking about some of the tricks like an ollie or a kickflip came to be and where they originated and who started doing them. It kind of goes with the name of the blog, Jump While Rolling. It’s the equivalent to doing an ollie because you just jump with the skateboard while rolling. Ollies are sometimes used to dodge an obstacle or to get onto an obstacle to do another trick off of said obstacle or sometimes just to jump a gap or just jump.

Kickflips are just a trick where you jump like an ollie except you point your toes and kick outwards to make the board flip, therefore the trick being called a kickflip.

I started skating over quarantine which made me want to learn a lot more about skateboarding and I really wanted to get involved with the community of it and everything by keeping up with the social media aspect of it like The
Berrics. It’s a social media aspect of skateboarding where they hold competitions yearly called “Battle At The Berrics”. They invite different skaters from around the world to come and play a game of SKATE with each other which is almost the same as HORSE in basketball but just with skateboarding tricks.

Things like that and more are why I love skateboarding and the community and culture and is the reason why I decided to do a blog about it.
